Proof It's A WorkDay Morning Around Here

If you were Sherlock Holmes...

And if you were familiar with the life patterns of this house...

By looking at this picture, you would know these things to be true and self-evident:

1.  It's early morning.
2.  The dogs have eaten breakfast.
3.  They're both under the covers for their wee nap before Mom heads to work.  (Zack, close to me, and Zanna, away from me.)  At least one paw must be outside the covers. (Sounds like some hormonal women I know.)  And believe me, they are SNORING.
4.   Mom's already caught up on emails AND blogging AND Facebook for the morning.

5.  Next, I will shower, blow dry my hair, get dressed.
6.  Last act before I head out the door will be for me to brush my teeth, at which point, without even being told, both dogs will stretch their way out from under the covers.
7.  Zanna will immediately head out to the outside kennel and wait at the gate for me to let her in.
8.  Zack will make it as far as the back door, will sit down, and have to be called to "Kennel, Zack!" at which point he will slowly lumber to the kennel gate and enter.  At. His. Own. Pace.

Now, that, people, is ritual.

Down and Out...Not For Long!

I’m alive.

I had to have a little operation, but I’m home now and recovering.

And though I had these great aspirations of writing every day, and telling stories about all the visits I’ve had from my friends, I’ve not been able to do that.

All I can do is sleep.

I forgot what anesthesia does to me.

It knocks me on my butt.

So, today is Sunday.  I think I had the surgery on Wednesday. (Pause for thinking.) Yup, Wednesday.

See?  I’ve lost days.  Days, I tell you!

I will feel better soon.  And I intend to get back on track writing.

Hopefully, I will.  Thanks for bearing with me!

Snoozebuckets Galore - Janie Down

Yup.

I didn't feel good at all this weekend.

And ThatManILove decided to show you a shot of his life from his perspective.  Snoozy Saturday morning.  These allergies, and the accompanying meds,
 are kicking my butt.

Snoozebucket Bedfellows

Snoozing and snuffling accompanies the night sounds in my bedroom.

Zack and Zanna wormed their way into the bed last night, and I was so out of it, they never made it to their kennels.

Such things tend to happen when ThatManILove is out of town.

I turn on the light, and my purview of my current territory is...2:1, Wonderdogs:Janie.

Two people could be on ThatManILove’s side of the bed.

Zack’s head is on my shoulder.

Zanna’s under the covers, at my feet.

I could put them up, but it’s 4:50 a.m.  I guess I woke up to go to the gym, but that’s tomorrow, not today.

I think I’ll let them snooze.  It’s a peaceful sound...and I might sleep a little more, myself.

Happy trails to you, today, as you go out and about your day.

Happy trails.

You, Too, May Garner Wisdom As You Sleep

I woke up my husband last night, gently trying to pry the remote controls from his hand...as he lightly snored.

He looked at me.

“Babe.  Turn it off,” I said.  “You’re sleeping. And snoring.”

“What you don’t know, honey, and don’t understand,” said ThatManILove, “is that even while sleeping, I am still learning, from such shows as Storage Wars.  I listen in my sleep, and store up information in my brain.  And that’s what makes me such an intelligent man.”

I smiled at him, shaking my head.  He slyly smiled back at me, as he turned over on his side.

“And, Babe?  You don't have to tell anyone that’s why I’m so intelligent. They don’t need to know everything.”

He cracks me up.

It’s never boring around here.

And He Sleeps...

Over the past couple of weeks, I've found Zack the Wonderdog snoozing at the VERY same time I've been in possession of my camera and the wherewithal to remember to snag a shot.  I thought I'd share pix of my aging boy with you.  (He's 10 now.  And he really did used to be solid liver.  I call the gray his "frosting".)  My beautiful ZackAttack.
