A Bracelet Here, A Bracelet There, Everywhere A Bracelet, Bracelet

See these?

 These beautiful bracelets?

Well, some of them are some old ones I’ve gathered up.

One, the big silver one, is an original bracelet, created by a Greek artisan, on the isle of Santorini.  I loved that jewelry store.  We purchased three pieces there, and this is one of my favorites.

But some of those bracelets, like the purple one and the black ones?  Those are the original creations of RubyJames by Lauren Wall.

She’s amazing.  She auctions her bracelets off every Sunday night at 8:15 p.m. CST on Facebook.

I love them.  Each and every one.

But they’re all super hard to wear when I’m typing on my computer.

So, I take them off.

My friends, who work with me on special projects (and I have a lot of special projects, and you know who you are) tease me unmercifully about my bracelet stash.

The stash I carry around in…

  •    My vehicle.
  •    My purse.
  •    Or leave on my desk.
  •    My coffee table.
  •    Lord forbid I hang them up on my jewelry organizer.

Those same friends tell me I wear them just to play with them.

They're probably right. Yeah.  I know.  I’m really bad.

But, I DO love my Ruby James bracelets!

Aren’t they gorgeous?

Love love love love them.

Oh, well.  If they’re talking about me, they’re giving someone else a break, right?

Instant Nest...Repurposing For Nature

My friend who plants my spring and winter flowers sent me a text last week.

“I didn’t know you were raising birds?”

Me:  “I’m not.”

And she sent me this picture.

When I came home the next day, I pulled up the ladder, and took some closeups.

I had to go out of town that day, but I had all intents and purposes of getting a game camera or something of the like and setting it up so we could watch the babies learn to fly.

My housesitter sent me a text today, and told me all the birds were gone.

I guess they were a little older than I initially thought.

I’m still going through with the camera idea, to catch shots of the hummingbirds.

A girl can have some toys, right?  Right?

Winter Color A La Susan

I came home one day to pick up some cleaning, and who was parked in front of my house?

Susan!  Landscape Artiste Extraordinaire.

I'm telling you, this woman paints better than Georgia O'Keefe - and she does it with plants.

Enjoy the first of winter color that Susan has planted for me.  I'll send more pictures over time, as she completes each flowerbed.

I love love love this girl, and her eye for proper plant placement!

You Are Awesome!!

When I came into a relationship with Jesus, I was 38 years old.

When I came to know the Love the Father has for me, I was, simply, renewed.  Refreshed.  Everything, washed clean.

I had daddy issues, me issues, all sorts of issues.  And Jesus?  Well, over time, He healed me.  And I came to really, really know God as my Father.  And I will never, never be the same.

When ThatManILove met me, he would often say to people, “I’ve never met anyone who so fully walks knowing that she is the Daughter of the King of Kings. Janie knows that she knows that she belongs to the Lord...that He is her Father.”

I did know.  And I do know.  I am a Daughter of The King of Kings.  And I am loved.

I’m SO thankful.

This video?  Reminds me, again, that I am wonderfully made and designed.  And I thank God for this powerful reminder, today.

Share this video today with any female you love.  Remind them...you are loved.

Cleaning Up and Cleaning Out...Part 1 - The Beauty Blender

I've been trying to get super organized lately.

Now, truthfully, I'm no organizer.

When we went through the Pathways training earlier in the year, my personality profile identified me to be a Commander/Entertainer.

Well, duh.  There I am.

No room for the Organizer.  Well, I'd like to think that, much less use it as an excuse.  But as hectic as our lives are, we have to stay somewhat organized!

As I was going through my vanity dresser, I realized I needed another Beauty Blender.   As much as I travel, I need one for the house, one for the travel suitcase.

And I know you guys that read this blog won't be amazed at this little jewel, but any person who wears makeup of any kind, eye, face, well, you get my drift...just needs one of these.
I got mine on Amazon, but you can get it at Sephora,  SkinStore, all sorts of places.  Don't settle for the wannabe that looks like this one - it's NOT.

So, you men, you wanna bless that lady in your life?  Get one of these.  Or this cool two pack.  She'll be amazed.

And ladies - best $20-ish bucks you've ever spent. I swear.

You can order the super easy special cleaning fluid, too.  This sponge and that cleaner will last forevahhhhhh.

Okay, commercial over.  Carry on.

Hummingbirds, Part 345

Okay, I just made up that title.

But in the evenings, when time allows, my camera and I have been hanging out in the back yard.

As have the hummingbirds.

Here’s what’s happened in my back yard lately.

Isn't this cool?  Taken at dusk.  No flash.

Taken at dusk, also.  Flash.

This is his "I'm a SuperHero" pose.

SuperHero, Intensified.

Morning.  I think he thinks he's a hummingbird.

I think he's an acrobat.

Now, he's just getting cocky.  Beautiful, though, right?

Stay Safe, My Wee Friends...

I’ve fallen in love with hummingbirds.

And, as is my wont, I’m always a little late to the game.  Late bloomer.  Late to “get it”.  Wearing bellbottoms 2 years after the fad has passed.  The big black glasses, 3 years after the small oval  John Lennon/John Denver cool specs were back in.
And the Bo Derek braids?  What?  They're not in style anymore?  Dannnnnggggg.

Miss Johnny Come Lately, that's me.

So…back to this whine.

After asking questions of Mr. Google and Mrs. Facebook (you do know FB is a woman, right?  Surely you know that!  Have you ever seen a more over-intelligent, hormonal, cantankerous, bitchy, snoopy creature?  FB is definitely female. I dare you to prove otherwise.  And that Mark Zuckerberg is the creator means absolutely nothing.), I find I've rum amuck.  Yup, at the tail-end of summer and well into fall, I realized that there are many reasons why I’m not seeing my sweet little hummingbirds.
  1. My schedule.
  2. The fact that I’ve had the same nectar in the feeders for months.
  3. My schedule.
  4. I don’t know how to look for hummingbirds.
  5. My schedule.
  6. Hummingbirds don’t like dogs.
  7. My schedule.
  8. My feeders smell badly and nectar is ruined.
  9. My schedule.
  10. My feeders were metal, probably not the best type.
  11. My schedule.
  12. Did I say my schedule?

I then fixed everything I knew to do, and started looking.
And voila!  The hummingbirds appeared.  So many that I didn’t want to go to work every day, and I rushed home as soon as I could afterwards.  Now, I know, from watching them feed on my plants, they were here daily.  But the feeders made the numbers increase so I was able to view them.
I can prove it.

But now?  The numbers are lessening.  They’re starting to migrate.  Fly south, my friends, and be safe.
I’m going to miss you.
Please come back next year, my darlings!  I’ll have a plethora of feeders and plants especially for you!

I promise.
