Pumpkin Spice Snow Cones?

My friend and I love to go to Bahama Bucks every once in a while.

It's not good for you.  Or me.  But I digress.

I do love a Birthday Cake with Cream.  Flattop.  Regular.  And may I have a straw, please? Skip the little umbrella.

I pulled up, and saw these new "fall" flavors.

Next thing you know, we're gonna have Pumpkin Spice French Fries.

Not this girl.  No way, no how.

Dex Saw The Light

Dex: Light? What light? I don’t know what you’re talking about.

Me: Yeah, because light is all in the eye of the beholder. And your eyes are CLOSED.

Correct Change

I tried to give correct change at the drive thru yesterday.

These coins are what I grabbed out of my change holder for 37 cents.

Somehow, I don’t believe that the car wash vacuum token is considered good money.

The barista thought it was pretty funny, though!

It’s never boring around here!

Only One Hour

Note to self:

Always check your flight arrangements when you entrust them to someone else.

We checked in for our final flight home Saturday night and afterwards, did the math.

We arrive at 8:30 p.m. in DFW Terminal E, have to grab our checked luggage.  Then, run to the train.  Then, go back through security for American Terminal B.

And hopefully, catch a 9:45 p.m. flight home to Midland.

I’ll let you know how it goes.

Once again, welcome to Mi Vida Loca.

It’s never boring around here.

UPDATE:

We landed at 8:20 pm.  Got to baggage claim at 8:30 pm.  Baggage arrived about 8:40 pm.  We grabbed a taxi who tentatively knew where to take us.

Point being:  we needed B40 Terminal.  He took us to B40.  It was closed.  Then…

We hurried to B18 to check in …the final American Airlines Terminal open…until 9 pm.  We made it there at 8:59 and they gracefully took our bags and sent us on our way.

We make it through security checkpoint when I realize ThatManILove is missing his backpack.  He runs back 2 gates to get it…and it has been sequestered.  (He forgot to take his water bottle out.)  They finally relinquish the bag.

Meanwhile, resourceful woman that I am, his chariot awaits.  I have begged a golf cart driver to take us to B40.  We tipped him $20 and it was worth every cent.

We get to the gate with 2 minutes leeway to board!  AND they upgraded us to first class!  (short flight, but we’ll take it!)

MIRACLES do happen!  Thank you, Lord, for your absolute favor!

Also, because we kept a full supply of Young Living Ningxia Red going, I really think we'll experience minimal jet lag at best. Young Living rocks!  YAY!

UPDATE:  Out of a full flight, only 12 bags made it to Midland.  Ours…did not.  Hopefully tomorrow!

PS - I love Southwest Airlines.

A Bracelet Here, A Bracelet There, Everywhere A Bracelet, Bracelet

See these?

 These beautiful bracelets?

Well, some of them are some old ones I’ve gathered up.

One, the big silver one, is an original bracelet, created by a Greek artisan, on the isle of Santorini.  I loved that jewelry store.  We purchased three pieces there, and this is one of my favorites.

But some of those bracelets, like the purple one and the black ones?  Those are the original creations of RubyJames by Lauren Wall.

She’s amazing.  She auctions her bracelets off every Sunday night at 8:15 p.m. CST on Facebook.

I love them.  Each and every one.

But they’re all super hard to wear when I’m typing on my computer.

So, I take them off.

My friends, who work with me on special projects (and I have a lot of special projects, and you know who you are) tease me unmercifully about my bracelet stash.

The stash I carry around in…

  •    My vehicle.
  •    My purse.
  •    Or leave on my desk.
  •    My coffee table.
  •    Lord forbid I hang them up on my jewelry organizer.

Those same friends tell me I wear them just to play with them.

They're probably right. Yeah.  I know.  I’m really bad.

But, I DO love my Ruby James bracelets!

Aren’t they gorgeous?

Love love love love them.

Oh, well.  If they’re talking about me, they’re giving someone else a break, right?

Oh No You Didn't - Daddy Diaper Tales

The joys of watching your kids raise their kids are immeasurable.

Younger Son has no sense of smell.

He can’t tell when his son has a dirty diaper, so he checks him regularly.

And one of the ways he does it is to stick his finger into the back of the diaper, pull it back, and look down.

Not the best thing to do when your munchkin has had a pouch of fruit and has filled his diaper.

I laughed until I cried.

Yup...Another Holiday!

I feel it's my job to let you know when you might have missed another holiday.

I bet you didn't even know about this one.

I know I didn't.

Yup.  Yesterday was World Potty Day.

For your viewing pleasure, I thought I'd research some toilets of the past and future for you.  Because me and Google Images, yeah, we gots it going on, babe.

Yeah.  You're welcome.

Now this would be cool.  Well, until the fish went bye-bye.

I like this one.  Seriously.

Styling and profiling while you're...yeah.  Nevermind.

I do not even know.

I'm really really scared of this one.  It might be just paper - because it says it will be "found invaluable".

Ummmm....no.  No way in hell.  Not me.  EVAH.

Now this is a different take on things, huh?

Notice you have your reading light, your decorative bowl, your heavy arm rests and a drink holder or ashtray (not sure)
AND you have your decorative toilet brush holder.  Plus, of course, the gravity flush pull chain.

I have nothing to say.  Well, I could.  I still know people that have wooden toilet seats.

You must feel edified.

So, write November 18th down next year...so you can plan ahead for World Potty Day.

What the heck?  Who comes up with this s...tuff?

Don't forget to get plenty of fiber in your diet.

Packing Assistant, Please? Anyone?

This Marriott Renaissance room is a mess.

And it’s a two-room suite!  (Which happens sometimes, thank God, when the hotel screws up your original king regular room reservation at the pre-appointed rate so then when they make amends they give you a two room suite at the same pre-appointed rate, which in my eyes, had to be the divine intervention of Jesus.  Man that was a long run-on-sentence.  But, I digress.  Again.)

This room is a mess.

We’ve been in Oklahoma City for 5 days for this AADE National Tech Conference.  Great conference.  Great people.  Great information.  Great fun/work trip!

As I look around, I realize we never unpacked our suitcases into the drawers.  We grabbed clothes out of the closet and our suitcases.  Meetings here.  Dinners there.  Breakfasts, over there.  People.  Places. Things.

And, now, it’s time to go.

Last night, I started making piles.

A pile of clothes to go to the cleaners in the next town.

A pile of clothes to go into the washer in the next town.

A pile of ThatManILove’s used workout clothes which absolutely positively will not be mixed with the regular clothes.  The guy can exude some sweat when he’s working out, and seriously dresses just for that purpose. Weirdness.

I have some major work to do just to get us packed.

And I’d best get to it.

We have some miles to log before we’re home close to home  okay dang it at our next hotel.

Y’all have a good day.

And I promise, after next Wednesday, I hopefully will be where I can get back to a more regular life for three weeks or so anyway and go visit your blogs and comment.  Thanks for being faithful to come by!!

Boots and Must Have Accessories - Part 2

I promised you in yesterday's post that there was a part two to the must-have Boot Accessories.

Well, peeps, here it is.

My very favorite boot accessory.

The Boot Shaper, by Austin Abbott.

I snagged these on Amazon for a mere ~$14 each, including shipping.  Just search "boot shaper"…you'll find them. I ordered a couple of cases of them and gave them to some of my friends.  I'm all for functional (and cheap!!) gift giving!

These things are the freaking Bomb.com.

They keep your boots upright, no matter how many miles you’ve walked.

They even have a hanger in them, if you’re blessed to have empty clothes rods.

Why Are You Looking Into My Boots?  STOP IT!!!
They are amazing, and help me keep my closets, well, if not totally organized, better organized!

Thought you’d love to see them.

They work on men’s cowboy boots, men’s knee high boots, okay, I’m gonna stop there.  And they definitely work on women's boots!

Here’s a good representation of, ummmm, yeah, part of the boots in my closet.  Some, more worn than others, but there ya go!

Go get ya some!  And...Save Your BOOTS!!
