Do WHAT?

This morning, I was getting ready for work.  And then, I heard this:

"Dex!  Get off that table!"

This Wonderdog of ours.  It's never boring around here!

Uber Undercover Boss...or the Things We Say

We landed in Scottsdale, got our luggage, and apped up the Uber dude. (Da Ubahhhh Dude)

Who arrived, post haste, in his 4 door sedan.  Which happened to be a Toyota Camry.

It was a decent size car.  I mean, we could fit in it.  All four of us.

Our luggage?  Not so much.

But, off we went to the Scottsdale Resort, trunk open, luggage threatening to hop out.

The driver was a hoot.

We had so much fun with him.  He even stopped and let us get a flat of water.

He kept trying to tell us he was Texan, and trying to mimic our accents.

But I busted him.  I figured out he was from New York.

He loved that we were messing back with him.

Well, until I told him that we were on Undercover Boss…and that I was the owner of Uber.

He just wasn’t sure if I was telling the truth or lying.  He played along, and did it well.

And we all had fun!

Tip factor?  High.  And he was worth it.

Crazy Times Around Casa Del Snelsonez

It’s been the craziest week.

We arrived in Texas from a Young Living Gold Retreat in beautiful Spokane, only to drive 5 hours to another retreat, this time a spiritual one.  Both were extremely good for the soul.

My mind is on overload!

And Monday?  Back to work in the oilfield!  It’s a good think I have Jesus and ThatManILove and these oils and these silly dogs to help keep me grounded and facing forward and going!

In addition to work, this week, we’ve attended a funeral, had overnight company, and dog trainers, and dog sitters flowing through our house.  One of my couple friends lost their sweet grand baby, and my heart so hurts for them.  More friends face health issues.  Life sometimes is just not fair.

Dex the rescue German Shorthair hurt his foot in the kennel, so he’s walking wounded, but doing well with his training.  Zanna is milking whatever she can, well, for whatever she can, as usual.  These dogs crack me up.

And voila, Friday is already here, and I have two vendor shows this weekend.

Where did this week go?

Next week will be pretty busy, as well, with work travel and presentations.

I’m working on the balance side of it all, trying to get it all done and achieve balance.

Maybe investing a little more time in writing will help.  I hope so.  I’ve missed writing!  I like the download aspect of it.

And yeah...one thing remains - it's never boring around here!

Happy trails!

Mac 1 - Mac 2 - Mac 3 - Mac 4

I’m so thankful for Best Buy’s Repair or Replace Plan.
I have not one, but TWO Macbooks to take in.  My personal one, and my work one.

My personal Mac has been in about 4-5 times.  I dropped it, and it’s had the hard drive and all sorts of stuff replaced on it, but it’s still going sloooooooooooow.  It has Photoshop and all my graphics on it.  It's heavy.  But it's amazing and has been my friend for a long while.  Like 2 years.

The hard drive on my work Mac is giving me signs of the “I’m about to shut down on you, girlfriend, and you’d best prepare.”  This is the first time I’ve had an issue with my Mac that wasn’t my fault (i.e., dropped, slipped, fell, broke the screen.)

So, I did. Prepare, that is.

I backed it up to Time Machine, and tomorrow, it’s going to the great Apple fixer in the sky.

Wherever that is.

And that Best Buy Repair or Replace Plan?  For Apples, is.no.more.  Mine is still good, but in the future, you won’t be able to buy one for a Mac.  You’ll have to buy Applecare.

From this point forward, I think all Macs go straight to Apple.

I don’t know.  But I soon will, like tomorrow.

So now, I’m typing on my brand new Macbook Air 13”.  You know, the one with an Apple Care Plan.

I had a brand new Macbook Air 12”.  However, it was highjacked by ThatManILove.  (Who, up to ~3 months ago, HATED Macs.)

I really do love my Macs.
We really do love our Macs.

But you knew that already, right?

I'll let you know how it goes.

It's never boring around here.

You Told Him WHAT?

We bought a rug at HomeGoods.

Steve and the rug manager took it out to the truck while I paid for it. I walk out to the sidewalk, and notice the manager is looking at me funny, and ThatManILove is saying, "She's recovering, though. We just have to watch her."

I play into what I think is going on, saying "Yes. If I start twitching, it's past time for my drugs." The manager has this sickly smile, and a weird look on his face.

We get in the car, my friend Becky and Steve laughing uncontrollably.

Me: "What did you tell him, ThatManILove?"

ThatManILove: I said, "You need to watch her. We go shopping with her, but we normally don't leave her unattended, especially to pay out for us. So you might want to make sure she paid. She's a recovering kleptomaniac."

And yes, the manager checked my receipt.

It's never boring around here.

And you absolutely, positively cannot make this stuff up.

Right On Time

Tears flowed around here last night for a bit.  One of our friends is in town, and we were catching up.  She has a new job, and we were talking over the last week's activities specific to her new position.

The tears were healthy tears.  You see, ThatManILove had just given our friend what we call a Position Statement.

Sounds bad, doesn’t it?  It’s not.  A Position Statement is just that.  It’s a position. It’s a clear, concise view of how you see that person, in that moment.  And this is what he said to our friend:

ThatManILove: “I have a Position Statement for you.”

She sat up straight on the couch.  I held my breath.  (Isn’t it funny, how we always brace ourselves for bad?)

She said, “Okay.”

ThatManILove:  “Girl, you got this.”

I breathed.

She breathed, or tried to breathe.  When she could, she said, “Thank you for caring enough to share.  I promise to weigh it carefully.”

And then, she burst into tears.  I did, too.  In saying those few words, ThatManILove affirmed that she was in the right place, at the right time, and doing the right thing.  He spoke right into the very core of her being.  She grabbed each of us, hugged us, and thanked us for our portions in her life, and for our encouragement and counsel.

This young woman has scaled mountains.  She has come up higher in her relationship with the Lord, and He is her everything.  The Lord is prospering her, in every single facet of her life, her family, her job, and most importantly, in her minute to minute, hour to hour, day to day relationship with Him.  With Jesus.  With God as her Father.  As the Lover of Her Soul. With the Holy Spirit.

And she is blooming.  Her joy, contagious.  Her zest for life, uncontainable. As it should be.

As it should be.

I look at her, and I am encouraged.  Growth is encouraging. And inspiring.

Thanks, my friend, for being open to what the Lord is accomplishing in you today.  You're right on time.

For who knows whether you have come to the Kingdom for such a time as this?” Esther 4:14

For my readers:  I hope this post has encouraged you.  We all struggle...and Jesus lives to intervene on our behalf.  Turn to Him.  He will hear your heart cry.  I promise.

Oh No You Didn't - Daddy Diaper Tales

The joys of watching your kids raise their kids are immeasurable.

Younger Son has no sense of smell.

He can’t tell when his son has a dirty diaper, so he checks him regularly.

And one of the ways he does it is to stick his finger into the back of the diaper, pull it back, and look down.

Not the best thing to do when your munchkin has had a pouch of fruit and has filled his diaper.

I laughed until I cried.
