Calling All Hummingbirds…Plus, A Contest!

This morning finds me outside, refilling my hummingbird feeders.  I brought them in last night, cleaned them, made new solution.

And then forgot to fill them and hang them.

I hope my hummers aren't mad at me…

On another note, these beautiful dew plants are blooming!  They do well in drought conditions, and the hummingbirds love them.

May your hummingbirds visit frequently!!

A week from now will find us heading…where?

Can you guess?

we only have a few hummingbirds so far this year. but they are outnumbered by the thousands of butterflies. :)

  2. I think they should forgive you for one night. It's not like you went and saw other hummingbirds, you had just spent all your energy working on projects for them all day, and were just to tired to finish up so late at night.

    We've all been there. :-)

  3. Next the Eagles, Humminbirds are my favorite, but I don't seen them around here. I would like to get some HB feeders, but if they are none around, what do you do? Place a HB Wanted add in a bird magazine?

  4. I've no idea if our hummingbirds are even around--I really need to get my feeders up and find out. THANKS for the nudge to do that this week.

  5. Well, I think I can safely assume that you're not going to H**l in a hand basket. But I can't get much loser than that.

  6. Hummingbirds are little miracles. I love to watch them do their busy work.

  7. Our hummingbirds will zoom up and hover at eye level. Kind of daunting. Have you ever noticed a "yard guard"? One hummingbird will claim the feeder as his own and will stand guard somewhere near, then dive-bomb any other hummer trying to feed. arghhh

  8. Next to our neighborhood roadrunners, hummingbirds are my favorite :) I was given that very feeder for mother's day. I'm now linking my latest post to this one.
