Mac 1 - Mac 2 - Mac 3 - Mac 4

I’m so thankful for Best Buy’s Repair or Replace Plan.
I have not one, but TWO Macbooks to take in.  My personal one, and my work one.

My personal Mac has been in about 4-5 times.  I dropped it, and it’s had the hard drive and all sorts of stuff replaced on it, but it’s still going sloooooooooooow.  It has Photoshop and all my graphics on it.  It's heavy.  But it's amazing and has been my friend for a long while.  Like 2 years.

The hard drive on my work Mac is giving me signs of the “I’m about to shut down on you, girlfriend, and you’d best prepare.”  This is the first time I’ve had an issue with my Mac that wasn’t my fault (i.e., dropped, slipped, fell, broke the screen.)

So, I did. Prepare, that is.

I backed it up to Time Machine, and tomorrow, it’s going to the great Apple fixer in the sky.

Wherever that is.

And that Best Buy Repair or Replace Plan?  For Apples, is.no.more.  Mine is still good, but in the future, you won’t be able to buy one for a Mac.  You’ll have to buy Applecare.

From this point forward, I think all Macs go straight to Apple.

I don’t know.  But I soon will, like tomorrow.

So now, I’m typing on my brand new Macbook Air 13”.  You know, the one with an Apple Care Plan.

I had a brand new Macbook Air 12”.  However, it was highjacked by ThatManILove.  (Who, up to ~3 months ago, HATED Macs.)

I really do love my Macs.
We really do love our Macs.

But you knew that already, right?

I'll let you know how it goes.

It's never boring around here.

Arrrrrrrrgh! Freakin' Microsoft Word!!

As you know, I work for a m.a.j.o.r. c.o.r.p.o.r.a.t.i.o.n.

You know, the kind that has an IT department?  That reaches from Houston, to India, and back?

So when I asked to switch from Microsoft Word 2007 to Microsoft Word 2003, and IT enabled the switch while watching my computer via sharing, that one action wiped out almost 6,000 contacts in Microsoft Outlook?

Oh, yes, it did.

And they have to have a password cracker to reinstall the contacts.  The ones from August 2010.  Not June the 30, 2011 most recent version that I was utilizing, oh, just an hour or so ago.

I'm so frustrated.  Now, I have all my contacts on MobileMe, since at home, I'm a Mac chick. I could seriously, easily, sync my contacts to Outlook from my Mac via MobileMe.  But can I upload iTunes to my work computer?  Or Mobile Me?  For a simple contacts transfer?

Noooooooooooooooo.  Absolutely not.  Against the rules.  God forbid if I listen to a song during my work day via iTunes.

I think I'll take up alcohol.  Today.  At 6:00 a.m.

It would be better than this s***.

Thanks for listening.  And if you were on my distribution list yesterday, and you're not today, drop me an email.  I'll add you.  Again.

Much love from my crazy end of the oilpatch,
