Maybe This Would Be a Solution

I'm thinking ThatManILove and I would benefit from a shirt like this.

Of course, sudden death might be an answer, too.

Oh, wait.

So stolen from the internet.

Sherlock - aka ThatManILove - And The Wonderdogs

The dogs were rather destructive today.  Well, for 10 minutes of the day, anyway.

ThatManILove promised me he'd get to the bottom of the mystery.

Just call him Sherlock. (Video here)

I will tell you who Thurber is in another story.

Three Shovel Day

Someone left someone a letter the other day.  Both someones ended up laughing until they cried.
I had to cover up the logo on the bottom. ;)

ManCold…Little Tinkly Bell…Call 999

Oh, nooooo.
ThatManILove has a cold.
Yup.  I feel so sorry for him.  I went and got him soup tonight.  Then put an extra blanket on him.  Listened to how I made things worse because he joined a client and myself for lunch. Then took the blankie off because he was too hot.
Sounding familiar, ladies?  Yup.  He is a sick man, indeed.  Hang tight.  He's getting a chill. I have to put the blankie back on.
Why?  Because, he has a:
MANcold.
If any one of you even think of sending him a little tinkly bell, I will CUT you.
Meanwhile, entertain yourself I mean pray for him while you watch this video.

Daytripping...Across Miles and Miles of Texas

Sunday found us in the vehicle at 7:45 a.m. heading 4 hours away to our son’s wedding shower in Spicewood, Texas.

Did I tell you we were tired?  And that ThatManILove someone had decided that it was going to be a roundtrip day? (And then tried to tell me it was my idea?)
We were tired.
Mainly because we got up early on Saturday and ran errands, went to the movie*, ran more errands, and then went to some friends’ house for supper.  And of course, we stayed too late.  WAAAAY too late.
So late, the hostess went to bed.  And left the host to deal with us hooligans.  Well, to tell the truth, I wasn’t a hooligan.  But we were all jammin’ on the piano, with ThatManILove playing the git-fiddle and singing.  It was fun.
And then, we decided that no way were we going to leave the kitchen in that kind of shape for the host and hostess to see in the morning.  So, we all got busy cleaning.  I think we got home at 12:30 a.m., and were up again at 5:30 a.m.
And now, we are home.  After day-tripping it to Spicewood, like we weren’t elderly and didn’t have a care in the world.
And now?  I’m in my pajamas.  ThatManILove is grilling ribs.
And the interns are fueling up the vehicles and grocery shopping, in preparation for their first day of actual work in the oilpatch tomorrow.
It’s never boring around here!

*Hangover II.  Do not take your kids.  It was over the top graphic...I wish I'd not gone.

And He Sleeps

Conversation at 4:11 a.m. this morning.
Yes, this morning.  When I had not been asleep but for one hour of the entire night.  (Don’t ask, I couldn’t begin to tell you why.)
ThatManILove wakes up.
TMIL:  “Janie, have you slept any tonight?”
Me: “Yes, a little.”
TMIL” “Why can’t you sleep?”
Me: “I can’t turn off my mind. I have so much to get done.”
TMIL:  “Well, I can’t do this up and down thing.  I’ve woken up several times tonight and...”
Me:  “No, you have not.  You’ve been asleep since 10:30 p.m.  I know -  I’ve been laying here the entire time.   You’ve talked a lot in your sleep, but you’ve not awakened.”
TMIL:  “Well, that should tell you I’m not sleeping well.  I need my sleep.”
Me:  “Go back to sleep, honey.”
TMIL:  “ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.”
Wow.  I’m glad he got that out of his system.

Ah, You Little Devil, You....

As you know, I travel a lot. Which means my butt warms plenty of seats (though not simultaneously) in airports. And I do love me some people watching.
As I wait on flights, I survey the people around me. In most airports, the seats are in increments of ten. This ensures that no more than five people will inhabit the entire row, because they leave one empty seat between them and the next person.  Unless, of course, that person is me, and sometimes between my stuff and that of ThatManILove, I can take up three seats.
Because this is how it goes down.
We start out with one seat between us, with his stuff piled in it. And then, I take up the seat to my left, with my stuff piled there. If there is any wait at all, ThatManILove sometimes decides it might be a great opportunity to snag a nap. Oh, wait, here it comes, RIGHT NOW, as I'm typing this!
TMIL: I think I’m going to go to that bank of seats by the wall so I can sit down, lean against the wall, and take a nap.
Me: Oh, really? Okay. Sleep with angels.
TMIL: Ummmm....did you pack my iPod? Is it in your computer bag?
Me: Yes.
TMIL: And my earphones?
Me: Yes.
TMIL: Is it charged up?
Me: Yeah, Babe, here it is.
TMIL: Okay, wake me up when it’s time, okay? (I smile and nod.) And my water? Can you hand it to me?
And on my shoulder, that little she-devil, dressed up in She-Safari camo and carrying this cool Prada purse, laughingly whispers, “You could always say you TRIED to wake him up!”
Naaaaaaah. I’m just not made that way. I just couldn't!

But it would make for some juicy blog fodder, don't ya think??!
