I need a custom-fit tailor. Not a tailor that’s custom fit, but a tailor who will custom fit my clothes.
I’ve lost some weight and I’m in between sizes. Meaning my clothes are either inappropriately tight, or they’re falling off...and not at the most opportune times, if you get my drift.
Midland’s a semi-big town. Not big enough we have traffic, but not so small that we don’t have a mall. However, the big stores like Macy’s, Nordstrom’s, etc. are not available except via on-line.
And I’m having the hardest time finding clothes that fit.
I guess I need to just dive in, go to my favorite Dillards, and spend a day trying on.
And then, I’ll still have to get a tailor to work on them.
I bet if I were a size 2 I wouldn’t have this problem.
Guess I’ll work on losing more weight. Then I can buy straight off the rack, no alterations needed.
Or, I could dress like the People of Walmart.
Oooh, *squeals with delight* I love Dillards! I have to shop them online since they don't have a store her in our hick part of Virginia.

Yay for losing weight!
ReplyDeleteI'm having this problem, too, as I'm working on losing baby weight. Problem will resolve itself once I get down to pre-preg clothes, but in the meantime, no good options.
Trying to figure out if I can make do with some t-shirts and shorts from Target for the next couple of months.
I can never buy pants without trying them on, I have taken 2 pairs of same pants, same size, but different colors into a dressing room, and 1 fit the other didn't! What??
ReplyDeleteAccording to the What Not to Wear peeps, EVERYONE needs a tailor to make their clothes look good. Seems expensive.
ReplyDeleteAlso, do you really want to be a size 2? I know I sure don't. I need to lose some weight, but I don't want to completely disappear.
At least the people of walmart don't care what they look like. Sometimes ignorance really is bliss.
ReplyDeleteI'm in between sizes too. The tailor isn't as expensive as I thought it would be. And I actually wear the pants, so that must be worth something!
ReplyDeleteSometimes, I pay more to have some item altered than the original cost of the clothing! And since most of us are off sized, we might as well learn to do some alterations ourselves.
ReplyDeleteIn my case, I have to purchase in a petite size for my upper body, and a regular size that needs alteration for my lower body. Heck, I should be making my own clothes if I were braver and craftier.
Dear Jane,
ReplyDeletePlease DO NOT dress like the "people of Walmart" just sayin. . . .
LOL - you really do not have to dress like the people of Walmart! ;-) And congrats on your weight loss.
ReplyDeleteBetwixt and between - and awkward time Jane. Either stop eating, or start eating and the problem will right itself huh? :-) -Dave
